Rooms

The rooms are very basic but have the hygiene feature that every guest wants – they are extremely clean and equipped with WiFi. All the rooms are self-contained. The washroom has standard western styled facilities. It’s got a shower, a commode with a jet spray and geyser with cold water and hot water at will. Standard toiletries adorn the wash basin.

There three categories of rooms :

Standard :

In this category the rooms do not have an A/C. They have a ceiling fan but even in the middle of summer one wouldn’t need it because there’s enough cross ventilation of cool breeze to keep the mercury in check. There’s a twin bed in every room that’s cozy and comfortable and can accommodate at stretch 3 people. A small kitchenette is also there if one would want to cook on his own. An induction coil can be arranged on request.

Standard A/C :

These are twin sharing rooms with A/C.

Deluxe A/C :

These are larger rooms with 3 beds with A/C.

Neighbourhood

The area around Raikar Guest House is serene with pin drop silence. Occassionally one hears a motor vehicle roar in a distance or a Sea Harrier doing a sortie since the Dabolim airport doubles as a military airport. There is scenic natural beauty all around with coconut trees and other vegetation adorning the vicinity. There are dry tree leaves scattered all around and enough of green grass to establish one’s connect with nature inspiring poetry or fuelling an artist’s paint brush.

Property

At the corner of a lawn spread over 300 sq mts., stands a magnificent cottage like structure ready to render a serene and heavenly experience to one and all who come to relax in its range. Raikar Guest House is a guest house about less than half a kilometer from the Bogmalo sea shore in South Goa. The Guest House is friendly to adults, kids , senior citizens alike ; to business travelers, leisure travelers, families, backpackers alike. It is nestled between coconut trees and there’s everything completely natural about it. There’s cool breeze, there’s incredible natural silence, there’s enough scope to be by oneself to absorb the beauty of nature around so much so that the environment can inspire poetry or art.

The path to the beach is very interesting indeed. One has to make way through swamp infested with coconut trees on one side and beautiful Portuguese styled houses on the other. One comes across several restaurants and souvenir shops before one hits the beach.

People

People around are very blissful and enthusiastic to help. They will make you feel totally comfortable and at home. Goan hospitality is anyway unparalleled. One gets a taste of the same here.

Outside

The Guest House looks like a typical village holiday home. The fired clay tiled roof lends it a rustic look.

Meals

There are no meals served at Raikar Guest House but there are enough restaurants less than a stone’s throw away half of which do a delivery at the door. But the meals can be laid out on tables and chairs on the lawn for breakfasts, lunch or dinner.

Events and Parties

The lawn is home to a lot of events and parties. The space can be used for get-togethers, parties, engagements, camp fires, Sangeet or haldi ceremonies, photoshoots, ice breaker games or just plain relaxing in a hammock. Event managers/decorators can be arranged on request. The space for the events is charged on a standalone basis but is let out with compliments if the entire guest house is hired and the participants of the event or party have to stay over.

Barbeque

Barbeque can be enjoyed by laying out the grill outside on the lawn. The grill can be arranged on request. This has been one of the most popular feature of the stay here so far. The apparatus will be provided, the activity is self-service.

Patio

There is a divided porch outside the rooms where one can rest, relax reading or just absorbing the nature in the front. This patio overlooks the lawn.
