At an altitude of about 2350 meters, Banjara Orchard Retreat in Thanedar offers a magnificent panorama of orchard-clad mountains. In a gorge, some 6,000 ft below, flows the scenic Sutlej river. This retreat is one for all senses – the sight of lush green slopes, the scent of fruit, and the touch of crisp mountain air. Mr. Prakash Thakur, your host, is at the helm of this labour of love and a resident expert on the history of this little piece of paradise.
